Responsibilities: - Develop knowledge of the University context, such that your recommendations are realistic in light of local conditions within the institution.
- Evaluation of University’s programs, attributes and activities in China, with recommendations for improvement that are sophisticated, realistic, well informed by market norms and that address University priorities.
- Keep abreast with market developments and the laws and other factors that would impact recruitment of students.
- Represent University in a way that reflects the mission and values of the institution, and is ethical.
- As directed by University, support and expand University recruitment network in China, including:
a. Developing and managing a program to support University’s extensive network of agents b. selecting professional recruitment partners (high school, post secondary institutions, language schools, etc.) and managing contract process c. liaising with existing partners on a regular basis d. attending fairs e. working with applicants to both screen, select and convert quality applicants - Assist with the University messaging within the market (in the form of marketing communications, web sites and social media) to a very high standard. Conduct interviews about study at University with social media and traditional media channels.
- Assist University with the design, implementation and management of inbound and extra-curricular programs in China.
- Initiate and assist in the development of promotional materials for the Chinese market. Translation of documents will be required. Write newsletters, correspondence and other materials as required.
- Have the capability to interact with and support faculty and other senior leadership at University. Serve as a primary point of contact for University in setting strategies and defining tactics.
- Accompany University personnel on official visits.
- Complete a monthly report on activities.
- Track travel expenses and diligently report those expenses on a monthly basis via an Excel tracker.
- Ensure that all activities of self and direct reports are compliant with all Chinese laws and regulations, including restrictions related to activities that may result in GES being deemed an “education agent”
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree or above, majoring in management or marketing background.
- 5 years or above experience in increasingly responsible roles related to education or international education. Prefer experience representing a known institution.
- Have an ability to communicate effectively in English and Mandarin Chinese and is skilled in both written and oral communication skills demonstrated on a daily basis.
- Strong marketing, recruitment and academic partnership management ability.
- Requires travels within China.
- Passion in International Education industry and oversea expat returnee is preferred.
